MARKING 10 YEARS OF DPS INTERNATIONAL

This year marks DPS International’s incredible tenth anniversary, and the organization’s commitment to quality and innovation in the use of technology.

One of the most crucial components of ICT integration is to ensure that technology serves as a catalyst for improved learning and comprehension, rather than simply becoming a tool. At DPS International. we believe that by appropriately deploying ICT, we can provide students with opportunities to engage with information in meaningful and dynamic ways, thereby encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

We believe by fostering a secure and friendly environment, we enable students to flourish in the rapidly changing world of technology and get them ready for an opportunity-filled future.

As we mark a decade, DPS International is determined to cultivate a dynamic, globally-focused learning environment for all stakeholders at school.

EARLY YEARS

Joeys were introduced to ‘Code-a-pillar,’ a coding app, where they learned how to arrange code blocks to complete the assigned tasks. This experience helped them develop expertise in directional language, sequencing, and problem-solving, thus fostering and enhancing their computational thinking abilities.

Students were taught coding through an educational robot called ‘Bee-Bot‘. They learned how to control it by using the directional keys, enabling it to move forward, backward, and turn at 90-degree angles to the left and right. As they progressed, students were presented with increasingly complex problems that encouraged the development of their computational and critical thinking abilities. Through this playful approach, they developed  skills of  sequencing, estimation, and problem-solving.

Students were thrilled to explore the ‘Tiggly Draw’ app, becoming familiar with its core functionalities such as selecting items and colors for shapes and backgrounds. Armed with this newfound knowledge, they seamlessly incorporated a variety of shapes and backgrounds to produce captivating drawings on the visually engaging digital platform. This creative experience allowed them to showcase their artistic talents while enhancing their proficiency in digital design.

Students were excited to explore the ‘MP Weather’ app, becoming familiar with various weather patterns across seasons and regions, understanding climate changes, and learning about different weather conditions like rain, snow, thunderstorms, and sunny days in an entertaining way. They enhanced their hand-eye coordination and precision through touch-based interactions and drag-and-drop activities.

GRADE 1 to 3

Students enjoyed their exploration of the app ‘Emoji Maker’ and familiarized themselves with its fundamental elements. They articulated their emotions by designing emojis using various shapes and backgrounds, thereby honing their creative thinking and communication skills.
